great

Sir Charles

Does anybody remember laughter?

I just did.

So awesome.

kathy a.

wonderful!

Emma

There was an Australian comedy talk-show called the Money or the Gun and one whole series had different covers of Stairway to Heaven every week. This was one of them. Here's another featuring the immortal Rolf Harris. And another in girl-band style. They were hilarious. Somewhere there's an album of them all together.

Emma

Oh, and I'd forgotten this one, B-52 style. Laughed my arse off, as we say here ;-) Ah, nostalgia. It never gets old.

kathy a.

oh, emma -- you're killin' me! great stuff!

Don K

Just effin' brilliant!

big bad wolf

emma, i am in the middle of wolf hall on your recommendation. so far, so great

Emma

Hey, bbw, I'm glad you are enjoying it. She's writing the next one as we speak, which gets us to the (sad) end of the story. I think I was a bit in love with Thomas Cromwell by the time I finished the book, warts and all like one is with a real person -- making excuses in my head for his faults, and the whole thing. That's pretty amazing in fiction.

big bad wolf

me too, emma. she's a brilliant writer who renders himm in full over time, over pages, over contradictions

Emma

My partner has just reminded me of the version by Elvis Pelvis: pure gold.

Oh, and we've been noticed by the great Brad DeLong. Blush!

MR Bill

Dang, Emma, thank you for introducing me to Rolf Harris!
I laughed so hard at his cover of 'I Touch Myself' I had to lie down....

Sir Charles

Emma,

Pure gold. And I am sure that all that glitters is gold. Still, it makes me wonder.

I am having a hard time deciding which one I liked best -- the B-52s style was quite impressive, but still you've got to give special point to an ensemble that includes a piece of flooring material, shaky accordion, and didgeridoo, among its instruments.
