"Things have Changed" - Bob Dylan
I don't know if it was the opening line " a worried man with a worried mind" or the chorus of "people are crazy and times are strange" but this one seemed to capture my mood this morning. From the soundtrack to the film Wonder Boys based on the Michael Chabon novel of the same name.
But it's not all bleakness out there -- as kathy and oddjob pointed out, Orly Taitz seems to have run out of places to hide.
Update: Somehow I had missed Ross Douthat's paean to the ways in which the forces of bigotry beget a stronger nation. Sweet Jesus this guy is repulsive and historically illiterate -- the respectable face of the worst that the right has to offer. If you think I'm being unfair check out this quote, just one gem among many:
The first America celebrated religious liberty; the second America persecuted Mormons and discriminated against Catholics. But both understandings of this country have real wisdom to offer, and both have been necessary to the American experiment’s success.
Now that's some impressive rationalization.
What have you done today to bring the dream of Sharia law a little closer?
