Meaningiless Veepstakes Speculation Thread
Looking at The List, I think we're down to a very small number of truly viable VP candidates. Rendell, Richardson, Hart, Napolitano, and probably Schweitzer aren't really going to get it. Chris Dodd has been asked to submit papers, so we'll put him on there. The James Jones rumors don't appear to have gone anywhere, though the fact that Jones doesn't have aides who can leak to the press would help keep those quiet. We'll keep him and drop Zinni into "The Field". That leaves Kaine and Sebelius as picks that have gotten a lot of speculation, with Bayh, Edwards, Clinton, and Dodd as longshots.
Speculate in a meaningless fashion in the comments.
What about Clark? Did he fall off the list with the whole "McCain is honorable but not qualified" nonsense?

Just as long as it's not Nunn.

Well, since Edwards was caught by the Enquirer having an affair with Laura Bush after she gave George a black eye when serving him divorce papers, he certainly won't get it. Especially if pictures of their alien baby get leaked.
I predict whoever is the whitest, most Jesusy penis-possessor will get it, so Tim Kaine.
Whoopee. Yay.

I thought James Jones came out as a McCain supporter.

Please not Evan Bayh -- he is a self-regarding centrist moron. No. I said NOOOO!!!

Right now my gut says Sebelius. She just seems to have the least number of negatives and the most positives. She's a woman whose husband isn't a former president, she has bipartisan skills (important to Obama, if not us) while not being a DLC type, she isn't a senator from with a red-state govenor. No democrats seem to especially dislike and a lot of people really like her. Also, if Obama was to do Nunn, Kaine, or Bayh I feel like he would have picked someone by now. There hasn't been any major moves to the center from him in a while now, and I think maybe he was getting all of those out of his system and his now settling into his "center of the Democratic party" position. Which I think means Sebelius.

Obama/Veneman 08
You heard it here first!

I think Corvus' gut is probably right. And I'll actually be fairly happy if it is Sebelius, because she's pretty good on the substantive issues. And some of the other choices that get mentioned really aren't.

The talking and typing heads hardly ever mention Sebelius. Several have lately proclaimed Bayh, Biden and Kaine the short short list. Why is that? I can't figure it out, unless she doesn't really want it.
Also, can we stop using the meaningless word "veepstakes"?

I think that Veepstakes has a meaning, since everybody knows what it means. Now, if you'd said 'excessively cutesy' as opposed to 'meaningless', I'd be with you.
