And here's a video that perfectly captures my feelings about the new year:

"We must be ready every day, all the time!"
Gee, what does that remind me of . . . ?

How true that is!
With the latest stuff about the new House rules, I think the GOP needs a new name, like the "Up Yours, America" party, or the Monkeywrench Gang (with apologies to the spirit of Edward Abbey).

ltc,
That 'latest stuff; from the Washington Monthly is simply, I don't even know what to say. "Unbelievable" seems too weak a word. It's insane.
I had to read the thing twice because I couldn't believe what I was reading.

If you think those were scary -- and they were -- read about Republican chicken-playing on the debt limit in today's Steve Benen -- which I never can link to.
The debt limit bill is going to be our first hint whether the next two years are going to be catastrophic or merely disastrous -- the links that you gave earlier assure that, along with news from the states. I have a hunch C-SPAN is going to be vital this year -- Fred Upton has already declared the House will repeal 'Obamacare' before the State of the Union Address, and then you have Michelle Bachmann on the ultra-secret Intelligence Committee.
If I were capable of running my own blog, I think I'd start "The Popcorn Stand at Meggido" because while I expect the next two years to be horrible, still, in a mad, sick way, the howler monkeys will also make it hilarious.
