If you're an American liberal who follows the blogs, you'll probably have heard about how Think Progress's Amanda Terkel was stalked and harassed by one of Bill O'Reilly's message boys. Steve Benen linked to the video of Terkel appearing on Olbermann's Countdown, which is well worth a watch. Olbermann is still a douchebag, even if he's a douchebag who's right, and doesn't actually do a very good job in summarising clearly what happened, but Terkel's is a star turn. I hope we'll see much more of her.
Meanwhile, however, there's something you can do. I don't think they'll listen to a furriner like me, but all you Americans do respond to Think Progress's appeal to tell O'Reilly's advertisers that you're not pleased about their sponsorship of harassment. They've got a list of advertisers and a sample email to send them all.
Ironically, the spokesman of one of the advertisers in question (AT&T) has now complained to Think Progress about the flood of emails, calling it ... harassment. Some people have no sense of self-awareness, I guess.
