Sir Charles of DC is a lawyer in private practice with over twenty years of experience representing unions, union employee benefit plans, and individual workers. His undergraduate degree is in political science. He is the married father of a teenager--and is thus ever reminded of life’s quotidian challenges--and he's the owner and primary walker of Stanley, the most adorable babe-magnet dog in the city. Like many in the blogosphere, he retains a touch of the frustrated DJ and enjoys inflicting his tastes on others from time to time, sometimes with an air of “I remember when I saw the Clash in this small club back in 1979”, the aging hipster’s equivalent of You kids get off of my lawn. He lives in Washington, DC and bitterly resents his lack of congressional representation, among countless other things.
Stephen comes from five generations of members of the Church of the Nazarene and the Salvation Army. He graduated from the same college as James Dobson and H.B. London, Jr., with a major in Biblical Languages. He went on to graduate from seminary, serving as a youth pastor, spiritual formation director, quasi-missionary/pastor (it's complicated) and various volunteer church positions. And he's the Cog Crew's most rabid Democratic partisan, is fully committed to women's unfettered right to choose and believes that ministers have no place bestowing tax breaks on heterosexual couples unless all other types of relationships get the same treatment. Run that past your filters, why don't you.
Voice o' Reason is the highly ironic moniker of a mildly deranged yet well-intentioned sometime TV writer, sometime advertising/marketing wordsmith living in Los Angeles. She believes in truth, justice, the American way (the liberal kind, not the annoying kind), equal pay for equal work, equal rights (especially equal marriage rights), and crispy chocolate cookies dipped in milk.
Sara Anderson has lived on the Palouse, a hilly farming region of Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, for over 20 years. Since earning a B.S. in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Idaho, she's been working in veterinary diagnostics but plans on returning to school within the next few years. She keeps herself entertained with food, drink, blogging and politics, so naturally leads the local chapter of Drinking Liberally. She blogs about all these things at her personal blog F-words, and the Idaho progressive blog Red State Rebels, and can be contacted at saraeanderson(at)gmail(dot)com.
John is a student in Toronto, Ontario. Between attending classes at Ryerson University, working at a bookstore part-time, and blogging, he doesn't have time to do much else. He can be found at his blog, Dymaxion World, and also at Gristmill. For some reason, he occasionally feels the urge to pin people down at parties and rant about energy policy, intellectual property issues, or international relations. Miraculously, his girlfriend of 7 years shows no sign of leaving.
