Phoenician in a time of Romans

Just a quick note on the latest Romney revelations -- it's a special kind of asshole who impersonates a police officer.

I bet it's a really great way for an unmarried 19 year old to meet chicks, if you know what I mean, nudhe nudge wink wink.

Over-privileged asshole.

oddjob

As a teenager Romney did what???

!!

Sir Charles

PIATOR,

That's some nightstick you've got there mister.

I can't wait to discuss this with my career Massachusetts State Trooper father tomorrow. He wasn't the governor's biggest fan before this -- but this will really be the cherry on the sundae.

What a cretin.

that kinda shit seriously pisses off real cops. probably about as much as lying to a judge seriously pisses off judges.

look, i did stupid shit as a young person. like those prank phone calls in high school, where we left messages with the recipient's babysitter like, "please tell Mr. X his hairpiece is ready." or that knee-slapper, where i took my boyfriend to a family holiday dinner, and once mom was sauced, put on a big plastic fake engagement ring that i actually truly got from a gumball machine, and she started crying about it being the best moment of her life? yeah, i confess to that one being particularly mean, even if it seemed hilarious at the time -- if the whole scenario screams "dysfunction" to you, your instincts are correct.

being pulled over by a fake cop wearing a real cop uniform? a costume party at ye olde dormitory is one thing; a flashing light on your car to pull someone over is quite another. this is why we have to tell our kids, "make sure it is a real cop, not a psycho killer" -- as if that advice would be very easy to digest in the moment.

I had just dropped a Mittlink about this into the previous thread. Can't settle on what adjective to settle on re this guy. One won't do.

Some jerk was tailing female drivers at night around here with this stunt and he's now in jail.

OJ---In a sane world, people might question the wisdom of elderly men who have never married, raised children, sent kids to college, worried about losing/keeping their jobs or paid income or real estate taxes, especially when they pontificate on all of the above.
Here are two relevant op-eds from today's Wash Post:
http://wapo.st/Lu36GZ
http://wapo.st/LE68Vw
One piece is about the ongoing failure of these same old men to take responsibility for sex abuse that occurred on church-owned property during their watch. These guys can go after Obama for trying to provide health care benefits they don't want their employees to have, but they can't own up to their own failure to protect children and others abused by some of those same employees, or colleagues.
By the way, I'm not anti-Catholic, just anti-pedophile, anti-rapist and anti-misogynist.

They wilfully ignore the teaching of Jesus:

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

"If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!" - Matthew 18:1-7 (New International Version)

It might be worth looking into millstones as an investment.
