"Champaign Illinois" - The Old 97's
Back from a quick round trip to Roanoke, VA today -- left the homestead in darkness at 5:30 AM, so a bit the worse for wear. But I heard this little ditty along the way, which brightened up the trip. It's front man Rhett Miller's update on Dylan's "Desolation Row." Indeed, as Miller explains in this anecdote, Dylan is credited as co-author of the song.
So I've been totally out of touch all day and just now read of the decision of the Dems not to take a vote on taxes. I think it's a tactical mistake, but what the hell else is new.
I've got a 6:15 AM flight to Boston tomorrow to take the kid up to look at colleges (and no, Harvard ain't on the list -- not by a long shot.)
What's on the collective cogblog mind?
