oddjob drip was kind enough to point out, courtesy of TPM, what strikes me as the most singularly satisfying smack-down in the history of cable television, with Zbigniew Brzezinski administering the punishment to Joe Scarborough, while daughter Mika looks on in horror. Basically, he tells Scarborough that he is spouting off pig-ignorant opinions about a subject (the Israeli-Palestinian dispute) he doesn't know the least little thing about.
The money quote:
"You have a such stunningly superficial knowledge of what went on it's almost embarrassing to listen to you."
It's the kind of moment one fantasizes about -- hell, I lit a cigarette after watching it and I don't even smoke.
It was like the Marshall McLuhan scene in "Annie Hall," only in real life.
I'm still smiling.
