Lee's latest. And it's awesome, as you'd expect--enjoy and share.
Happy Sunday (and Happy Almost-Hallowe'en, and last-week-of-the-Best-Election-Season-Evah, and pre-Día de los Muertos/All Saints Day, and Nearly Guy Fawkes Day) everyone.

That was funny.
I tend to be pretty pessimistic about the political behavior of the Teeming Masses of My Fellow Americans. But I've got to believe that when the McPain camp desperately shouts "Socialist!!!" in response to Obama's 'outrageous' idea of bumping up the tax rates on billionaires just a tad, at least some people are thinking, "That's 'socialism'?? Huh" ... and re-evaluating their opinion of socialism.

Yeah, I am hoping that the news people start pulling on socialists to start explaining just what socialism is. Wouldn't it be great if the right moved the Overton Window for us?

What a teachable moment! I went to Wikipedia and looked at socialism (I'm not sure my Michigan 7th grade civics class even covered it) and the Overton Window (another proud moment for Michigan!). And thinking about the 'O' window, I remember saying 'If they just repeat something enough (e.g. Iraq and Al-Quada were in cahoots and attacked us on 9-11, thus we must attack Iraq), people start believing it. Bingo. Over and over bush and his admin repeated stuff like this and how many people believed Iraq attacked us? At one point it was well over 50%.
Overton Window. I remember it well. Thank you Corvus, and Cogitamus. Always good value.

Lee once again with the very pithy work.
Who knows -- maybe with Republican help, socialism may not be such a dirty word.
