Yes, I know: Fox Business News is not the same as Fox News. I get it. Okay. Now read on. Jon Friedman of Fox Business News writes:
NEW YORK -- The media scrutiny over Gov. Sarah Palin's controversies is bringing out the worst in Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
At a time when it's essential for McCain to show reporters that he is in control of an awkward situation, he is instead showing signs of panic . . .
Now, McCain is starting to look and sound like every other politician. When things get tough, blame the media for your woes.
McCain, according to The Wall Street Journal, "abruptly canceled a scheduled appearance on CNN's 'Larry King Live' in retaliation" for an earlier interview when network anchor Campbell Brown of CNN introduced questions about vice-presidential candidate Palin's foreign policy expertise.
When he reacts by blaming journalists for his problems, McCain looks petty and churlish, not icy cool and, well, presidential. He is sending the worst possible signal to the reporters who were responsible for telling America what he stands for.
Lots more quotable quotes. You can read it and still have plenty of time before Palin comes on tonight.
I still have to laugh at the notion of the "Clinton News Network" or CNN as at all liberal. I can't even imagine what is the basis for this assertion.
