Well, I guess McCain really does care about women after all. I'm sure this will bring the PUMAs roaring back to life. They might even get another one to record a commercial, which would bring McCain's total of votes taken from Obama to. . let's see. . .um, two. If they get around to it.
Others will deal with McCain picking someone so young, inexperienced and unknown. I think the real issue is just how many other candidates for the office of Vice President have been under active investigation by their state's legislature. How many of them have been Governors with rumors of impeachment surrounding them, how many of them pressured a state agency to fire their sister's ex-husband. You know, banal, silly campaign trivia that political junkies like me enjoy.
It seems to me that the Alaska GOP brand is a bit more tarnished than the national brand. Kos said that at least McCain has locked down Alaska's electoral votes - all three of them, woot! - but at this point I'd say all bets are off in that state.
It'll be a fun campaign.
