I guess I was hoping that the inanity of the 2004, and, to a lesser extent 2006 elections was driven by the war making everyone just a little bit crazy.

Wow -- so they took an utterly charming moment and made it sound like a defensive and crotchety Obama denied a child a playful fist bump.
I am beginning to think that maybe we should exercise our newly minted Second Amendment rights and just shoot every tenth member or so of the mainstream media in order to, in the words of Candide, "encourage the others."
