Somehow I had forgotten how deeply the Villagers propagated the myth that George W. Bush would win the 2004 election because he was the candidate that people wanted to have a beer with. These days, when Bush improvises some African dance moves or interrupts a band conductor so he can do her job, we're mostly just embarrased.
