The strange thing about the war funding vote is that it doesn't cut across any political lines with in the Republican caucus. Congressional Republicans with tough races didn't vote uniformly one way or another; nor did the far-right members of the House. It doesn't look like an attempt to let moderates "walk away" from the war, in which you let the moderates off the hook while the conservatives take on for the team. It's just about making Democrats into a do-nothing Congress. And I don't think it will work.
