I just wanted to register: this was really funny.

Corvus9

I always feel strange when I am laughing out loud uncontrollably while reading something on a computer screen.

Sir Charles

I, on the other hand, use staring at the computer screen to camouflage my inappropriate outbursts of spontaneous laughter.

By the way, my AFSCME contacts simply believe that the institution is unwilling to be the first rats off a sinking ship.

Corvus9

Or the first frogs out of a boiling pot.

Seriously, Obama seems like a magnanimous dude and all, but I can't shake the feeling that this whole Clinton campaign is systematically destroying everyone that is involved in it.

AFSCME didn't hesitate to jump ship when Dean was sinking. My theory is that this is some sort of grudge left over between McAfee and Dean.

And I just listened to a BBC interview with voters in WV. Made me want to stay indoors all day. Cinton's appealing to their most racist instincts, telling them it's okay to feel that way! We all do! And they've totally embraced the racism now. So yeah, her campaign is totally destroying everyone involved in it, including her voters.

KathyF

Umm, just to be clear, I meant Clinton, not Cinton, who as far as I know is not running for president.

Corvus9

Looking this over, I find that my comment made absolutely no sense. Allow me to clarify

What I mean is, I think a lot of the thing that the Clinton Campaign, its proxies, and its supporters are doing are things that are so insulting—I mean this isn't so much race-baiting as fishing for racists—that I find it hard to believe that there will be no consequences for their support. I mean, if I was running for president in Obama's place, and I won the primary and got elected, I wouldn't give these people the time of day. I would be sore about it all.

Now, considering how often Obama has been able to keep his cool about stuff like this, I think that is not necessarily the case here. Maybe it is. But I think there is a good chance the AFSCME sees itself as all in, and if their nominee doesn't win it, they will just be completely shut out of the next presidency. It's Clinton or nothing.
