Whew! There's so much time, and so little to do! Wait. Reverse that. At any rate, it's Monday, with its usual slew of information heading our way. Here's some links to a variety of interesting things after the jump.
- Google continues its quest to ensure you never leave their (internet) domain, this time with Google Recipes. Search by keyword, main ingredient, cuisine, or all of them together. Maybe this will put the final nail in Hamburger Helper's coffin.
- Kevin Bacon is now campaigning for John Edwards in Iowa. Bacon's extensive connections to every single person in Iowa just might give Edwards the edge he's looking for next month.
- Time says in its headline that "Tax Cuts Don't Boost Revenues." Money quote is in the second paragraph:
Virtually every economics Ph.D. who has worked in a prominent role in the Bush Administration acknowledges that the tax cuts enacted during the past six years have not paid for themselves--and were never intended to.
- Finally, I'm sure we all know about the irreducibly complex eye and the proof it provides that somthing or someone had a hand in designing it. Hmmm. Seems that Professor Shaun Collins of the University of Queensland School of Biomedical Sciences has a problem with that view, now that he can show us evidence of the evolution of the eye from simple to complex among lampreys and hagfish, living fossils that have been around over 500 million years. He doesn't seem to have much to say about bananas, though.
The Kevin Bacon line totally made me giggle.

And since this is the miscellany thread, I'd like to say that entering the letter test for every post is a bit annoying. Is there any way we could sign up for comment privileges or something? If nothing else, it'll be a nice way to keep Fred/El Viajero/etc from spreading.

I don't know if it's just me, but the brownish yellow color scheme, and the small print, is driving my eyes batty.
And excepting obnoxious ads with a lot of motion and flashing lights, very few things online drive my eyes batty. Just sayin'.

We're working on that.
